A husband may forget to wish his wife on her birthday. Of course, he might not avoid wishing her purposely. He might forget as he is busy with work; or maybe he hasn’t had a good day at office. Or, maybe, he’d had a difference of opinion with his wife, and is sulking now. Whatever, the reasons might be, the wife should not repeat what her husband had done. She should not plot to pay back in the same coin by ignoring her husband’s birthday.
However, the ‘tit for tat’ proverb is applicable when somebody has been kind and hospitable towards another. The other person should return the favor done to him in a similar manner. Generosity and goodwill should always be repaid in the way in which they have been received. Then, the world will become a better place to live in.
